What's Your Plan?

By Mrs. Shelby Sullivan

Have you thought about your plans after high school?

Will you attend college, earn an industry certificate at a trade school or community college, or enter the workforce?

It can often be overwhelming thinking about and planning for the future. To help you sort through and identify paths that may interest you, I recommend checking out the California Career Zone website. You might just unveil a career path you didn’t know existed.

California Career Zone can help you explore your options.

You do not have to create an account to use the website, however, creating a free account will allow you to save your research.

I recommend starting by completing the Quick Assessment. This will help you identify what you might be interested in. There are other ways to discover career possibilities if you complete the Interest, Work Importance, or Skills Profilers

Once you have found a career or industry that appeals to you, you can dig deeper into the training or education needed as well as the growth in the industry and forecasted income. You can watch short videos about an industry or occupation and locate training facilities or colleges to meet your needs.

The website has many other great tools to help, such as learning how to create a budget and how to build a resume.
