A Message from Principal Christine Feher

Dear Students and Parents,

We are entering the final stretch of the 2019-2020 school year, and it is proving to be one of the most interesting times in recent history.  None of us could have predicted that we would be two weeks into a state-wide “stay at home” order that will likely last through at least the month of April.  Fortunately, CalPac’s unique online environment has allowed us to continue your child’s education without disruption, despite the unique circumstances we are facing today.

CalPac remains open and operational, which means we are still required to take attendance and monitor student work progress.  That being said, if your family is experiencing changes or challenges related to COVID-19 that affect student attendance or progress, please advise your homeroom teacher so that we can support you with resources.

State Testing is cancelled for this school year by the Governor’s Executive Order N-30-20.  We will use our internal, online assessments to measure student achievement and growth in order to make data driven decisions for our school.  Please look for more information about our CalPac assessments in May.

All in-person events have been cancelled, with the exception of Grad Nite at Disneyland, Graduation and 8th grade promotion.  Since those dates are late May and early June, we are holding out hope that we can celebrate our students if the recommendations of the CDC and other federal and state organizations say it’s safe.  More information will be provided to 8th grade students and Seniors as these dates approach.

Additionally, we’d like to invite parents and students to participate in our upcoming Parent Advisory Committee meeting on Wednesday, April 22nd at 630pm.  At this time, we will review our current schoolwide data, areas of need, goals, and the funds that are allocated to address our goals and needs. We value the input of our community stakeholders, so please join us to voice your opinions on our school operations and budget.  We’d love to hear from you!

Lastly, enrollment is now open for the 2020-2021 school year.  Your Homeroom teachers are sending a survey to secure your spot for next school year.  If you have a sibling or family member who will be new to CalPac, secure their spot by enrolling now.  And don’t forget to recommend CalPac to your friends--with our current world circumstances, many more families might be looking for alternative options to traditional school.  CalPac is here to serve you and your community!

Thank you for your continued support of CalPac and our amazing students.  Please keep your family safe and reach out if you need support. If you have any questions, suggestions, or comments, my "door" is always open.  Please feel free to contact me directly at cfeher@cal-pacs.org or by phone at 855-225-7227.
